Douglas iris is an evergreen perennial for shade or partial sun with blue violet spring flowers. It is a California native that is drought tolerant.

This plant is given a soft, mound-like appearance by the long, arching branches that are found covered with small, bright green leaves. It is able to grow in either full sun or partial shade. This plant is fast growing and can be invasive. This plant is poisonous if ingested.

The deciduous rhizomes of this Peruvian Lily will often run aggressively if not controlled. They grow best in full to partial sun with some summer watering in dry climates. The florist strains can reach 6' tall, while the compact strains range from 12" to 36" tall. For extra long, florist quality stems, stake or grow through netting for support.

This 2" perennial groundcover is a great addition among other sun-loving perennials. Its creeping stems bear small purple flowers all summer. The plant spreads quickly, and should be placed in average to moist garden soil. The thyme-scented foliage can be used to flavor food.
