The Coast Live Oak is an evergreen round headed tree. It can reach 15'-40' high and 20' wide; it grows very well from the coastal areas to the interior valleys. It is native to California, is drought tolerant, and attracts butterflies.

This Carex is a tough sedge that works in a variety of environments. It will grow in full sun or underneath shade trees. Carex flacca has a lot of variety in form and color. It is a slow spreader, with blue-grey foliage and flower heads in late spring.
